“In this episode of FounderMetrics, Ifty Nasir sits down with Nicki Coe, a leading co-founder coach, to discuss why most startups fail-not because of bad ideas, but because of co-founder relationship breakdowns.

She shares insights on cofounder dynamics, communication strategies, prenup agreements, and leadership alignment to help founders avoid disaster.

Drawing from her experience as the co-founder of LUNA + LION, Nicki talks about why business partnerships feel like marriages, why clear roles and agreements are essential, and how startup teams can avoid misalignment that leads to failure.

A presentation slide titled "How to Successfully Scale a Co-Founder Partnership" by Nicki Coe, Co-Founder Coach. The slide has a light beige background with three blue star-like icons.

This is my bespoke workshop on how to effectively scale a Co-Founder partnership.

65% of high potential startups fail due to Co-Founder fallout (Harvard Business School), and this session is about building a strategy for your partnership that will allow you to beat those odds.

The content is tailored depending on the audience, but this is the rough agenda:

  • The foundations of a thriving partnership using my own unique framework

  • Why a partnership MOT is critical as you scale

  • The top tensions I see between partners at scale stage

  • What to review and refine in your partnership as you scale

  • My expert tips and practices to embed into your dynamic and working structure

HOW TO BECOME A LEADER

A conference room filled with people attending a presentation. The room has a ceiling with exposed concrete and red pipes, and large circular light fixtures. There is a stage with a presenter and a projected screen.

The woman on the left is wearing a patterned navy and white outfit, and the woman on the right is wearing a green shirt dress with a black belt. They are in an indoor setting with black curtains and gray flooring.
A woman is speaking into a microphone to an audience at a conference. The backdrop displays a large screen with a quote about leadership, and a banner that reads 'The Women in Programmatic Network.' The room is filled with seated attendees, and there are chairs, tables, and curtains visible in the scene.

What if leadership isn’t a promotion, but a decision?

It took me years to define what leadership truly meant to me (took me years to even ask myself the right questions to be honest….) so I feel really passionate about supporting others to define it for themselves, and take action towards becoming that leader.

This interactive session covers:
- Defining your version of leadership (not the one you inherited)
- How to become that leader, one bold step at a time
- Building influence in your career and industry, without waiting for permission (or a title change)

These photos show me delivering this session in Brussels, at the launch of The Women In Programmatic Network, and here were some kind words from the audience:

“Nicki Coe’s coaching session really stood out. She left us with a powerful question that I keep thinking about:"What if leadership isn’t a promotion, but a decision?"

“Your coaching truly inspired me (especially your story)”

“Nicki delivered an insightful and empowering session on how to grow your leadership. She truly smashed it!

The content was not only relevant but also highly engaging, leaving everyone feeling inspired and ready to take on new challenges in their careers; Nicki’s expertise and passion really resonated with everyone.”
